The "Hitler was a Christian" Slander

“What's to prevent us from saying Hitler wasn't right? I mean, that is a genuinely difficult question.”  —Richard Dawkins Sounds just like many modern atheists today. This quote is from Table Talk. For some reason, many atheists want to "give" Adolph Hitler to Christianity. "Hitler was a Christian!", they gloat. But that is the opposite of the truth. "He said he was a Christian, Cowboy Bob!" Ummm...yeah. How often do you believe politicians, especially those that have murdered millions of people and were obvious maniacs? Get that? He was a politician, striving for power. Also, who was Jesus to him, what was God, what was Christianity to him? The same problem exists with many atheists today — they redefine the terms to suit their own ends. I have some ideas on why Christophobes try to pretend that Hitler was a Christian. First, to make the atrocities of the greatest mass murderers of history, the atheists Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Pol P

Atheists, Hitler and the No True Scotsman Fallacy

It is truly baffling to me when atheists want to "give" Hitler to Christianity. And they do it with gleeful self-humiliation. "Why is it self-humiliation, Cowboy Bob?" Most atheists that I have encountered, especially on the Internet, fallaciously declare themselves to be the intellectual elite, simply by virtue of being atheists. (Ridiculous, I know.) Yet these bastions of enlightenment commit logical fallacies freely and frequently. They also do not know how to correctly identify fallacies. Hitler supposedly claimed to be a Christian (but his "Christianness" is easily refuted ). When a Christian says, "Hitler was not a real Christian", the misotheist will scream, "AHA! The 'No True Scotsman Fallacy'". Except that he's dead wrong , and has embarrassed himself by incorrectly attempting to use a logical principle. Remember, don't fear the atheist. They have a great deal of bravado, but even a cursory knowledge of

Logic Lessons: No True Atheist

Okay, you caught me. The fallacy is actually called the " No True Scotsman ", a term coined by atheist Antony Flew before he became a Deist or something. This fallacy is a darling of atheists who use it incorrectly against Christians. NTS is not an actual fallacy per se , but rather an illustration of other fallacious thinking, such as "moving the goalposts". Simply stated, the claim is made about someone's actions or character. When an exception is found, it is waved off because the person is not genuinely part of the group: No Scotsman puts sugar in his porridge. But Angus MacDonald puts sugar in his  porridge! Aye, but no true  Scotsman puts sugar in his porridge. It is simple enough. Someone makes an assertion. When an exception to that assertion is made, an excuse is made to counter the exception. When used against Christians, it is often incorrect, arbitrary and superficial, ignoring important elements about Christianity . When we are accused
