More Leftist Activism from the Secular Science Industry

Image
Something that I have discussed here, at Piltdown Superman , and elsewhere, is that scientists are people. They are not the unbiased seekers of knowledge and purveyors of truth that many people imagine. Instead, they have the same foibles, passions, tendencies toward avarice, altruism, and the same things that us reg'lar folk have. This includes using science for political agendas. Credit: NPS Photo by Kristen Lalumiere Most scientists in the secular science industry work from atheistic, naturalistic presuppositions, and are blind to their own biases . Since they believe in slime-to-sidewinder evolution, secularists tend to have a low view of humanity. They know that people have that unrealistic view of scientists as mentioned earlier, and use Scientism as a manipulative technique . After all, people "think" with their emotions instead of using reason far too often. (Why do you think people believe the fake news and "consensus science" nonsense saturating

Bad Marx for Communist Adoration

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen On May the Fifth, the 200th anniversary of the birth of atheist Sith Karl Marx was celebrated. Communism, its ugly kid sister Socialism, and other leftist systems are responsible for the deaths of millions of people. Many freedoms, especially speech and religion, are devastated under such rulers. China paid for a statue of Marx to be set up in Germany, the place of his birth. Everywhere these systems have been established, they have failed. Amazingly, people like failed US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders lauded Venezuela and other South American countries . China has a pretense of communism and forces atheism, but its economic system is a strange hybrid with capitalism. Most of us know that the communist Soviet Union (a "workers' paradise") collapsed, and North Korea is another communist police state that was propped up by the USSR. Even though most of communism collapsed and the ideology fell into some disrepute, it remained popular i

The Year of "STOP IT!"

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen People are claiming to be "offended" over inconsequential matters, and I believe they want to draw attention to themselves and try to gain power over others. It has been rightly said that these tinhorns are effectively saying, "I have no control over my emotions, so I want to make others change their lifestyles and coddle my feelings". Or words to that effect. The above image was inspired partly by Brad Stine's remarks about people saying, "Happy holidays" because they don't want to offend someone who doesn't believe in Christmas. Other holidays, people call it w hat it is: "Happy Valentines Day — Ooh! Do you believe in love?"    I reckon that some folks just look for things to cry about. One problem with this is that municipalities, courts, businesses, or whatever give credence to nonsense. For that matter, I'm offended on occasion, but I don't file complaints. (But then, it's not expedient

Election Results and Shredding the Constitution

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen One of the benefits of the 2016 American presidential election is that we have seen just how poorly leftists react to results they don't like. We have professional sidewinders [ 1 ] rioting , other people protesting the clear results of the election , evidence of Democrat voter fraud is being made more obvious that usual [ 2 ], university students needing coddling [ 3 ], and more. Calls for a lost-cause recount are giving Donald Trump move votes [ 4 ], which gives me the impression that we may never know the final tally of the popular vote. Image credit: Freeimages / Kristen Price One of the bigger threats to our constitutional republic is efforts to abolish the Electoral College . This system ensures that the United States doesn't have mob rule , when the heavily-populated urban areas traditionally vote Democrat and the rest of the country would be told (to quote Remo), "That's the biz, sweetheart!" Hillary Clinton lost most of

Kim Davis, Homosexual "Marriage", and Religious Freedom

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Since the US Supreme Court legalized homosexual "marriage" (no one can actually redefine marriage because God is the one who defined it ), religious persecution has been on the rise , as was predicted by Franklin Graham and others; say that homosexuality is a sin and not something to be celebrated , risk getting in trouble. The court has been wrong in the past (abortion, the Dred Scott decision , and others), and is wrong now. Kim Davis, a county clerk in Kentucky, refused to issue marriage licenses that would violate her religious convictions . She went to jail , which was a violation of both the United States Constitution and the Kentucky Constitution . Indeed, the tinhorn activist judge who sent her to jail also required reeducation of students who opposed homosexuality . Naturally, the Gaystapo, unintelligent atheists , and other leftists are thrilled with all this, not caring about the implications that state and federal laws are being v

Assigning Blame for the Holocaust

Another example of how the left wants to rewrite history. In April, we brought you the story of an Illinois public school teacher who gave her class an assignment in which the students had to create a pie chart to divide blame for the Holocaust among ten entities: Hitler, German citizens, top SS, minor Nazis, Poles who lived near Auschwitz, non-Jewish Europeans, Allied countries, the churches, the Jewish victims, and God. The teacher told her students that zero-percent blame could only be assigned to one entity, meaning that the students would be forced to assign a percentage of blame for the Holocaust to either God or the Jewish victims. We had been alerted to this story by a tip from a concerned parent, and we ran it based on the material she provided (and corroborating testimony from another parent). After a little more digging, we now understand that this is a much bigger story than we initially thought. This Holocaust assignment was not the work of one public school teac

Does "Minimalist Government" Exist?

The thoughts just keep on rolling! But I think this will be the last one on "Minimalist" philosophies for a while because I have some other things to talk to you about. Let me remind you that I am still working through these things. As far as I can figure it, a Minimalist is the ultimate clutter reducer. Leo Babauta describes it this way: “Minimalism isn’t about having or doing nothing – it’s about making room in your life for the things you love doing most. In this way, by getting rid of all the clutter in our lives – physical clutter and commitments – we are freeing ourselves, so that we can focus on what truly matters, and not all the extra crap people tend to do and have for no good reason”. You can read some more interesting discussions on that here , here and here . Note: Use your right-click and "Open in New Tab" feature on Firefox so you don't get lost and forget to finish this article that started you off. As I said before, Leo takes things further t

Cowboy as a Pejorative

Image
Buon giorno, Pardners! Do you ever have that experience where something occurs to you and you ponder it for a while, then it finds its way to the back of your mind and camps out for a while, then it comes back so you can consider it again? It happens to me occasionally. Sometimes, the cycle repeats itself several times. Well, one of those thoughts seems to have come to fruition. Tommy the Knocker and Nicky hate it when I talk that way ("comes to fruition"), and they don't like my title. Too bad. There are people that put "The State" above all else. Your liberties do not matter to these Statists . All that matters is government control, making you bow to the state. According to Mark Levin, Statists are not necessarily liberals. I see it that liberals are more likely to be Statists (so I have a slight disagreement with the great one), and in America the extreme leftist liberals do not believe in the rights of the individual. All that matters are their own
